Black Friday sales up slightly from last year according to NRF. 2008 sales hit $10.6 billion, a 3% increase from 2007. On average, consumers spent $372.57, which is a 7.2% increase over last year. It’s safe to assume that consumers came out in search of great deals. Only time will tell if the rest of the holiday season will remain as profitable for specialty retailers.
