Board Retailers Association Announces Endorsement of Agenda Long Beach

LOS ANGELES (July 2, 2013) – AGENDA, the leading forum for action sports, surf, streetwear, lifestyle and sneaker industries, today announces an exclusive west coast endorsement with the Board Retailers Association (BRA) for its upcoming show in Long Beach July 25th and 26th. Echoing the same set of beliefs, Agenda Long Beach and BRA—will join forces in continued support of the independent retailers and their influential role not only in action sports but also in the fashion industry worldwide.

“Supporting the independent retailers is at the core of the AGENDA business model. It’s a natural collaboration for AGENDA and BRA to unite for the greater good of our Industry,” says Mike Carter, VP Sales and Marketing. “The relationship will give us the opportunity to further focus on the needs of the independent retailers and brands.”

The new venture brings key awareness to uniting and supporting specialty retailers in the boardsport space. BRA and AGENDA are the perfect pairing, creating a unique platform that specifically can foster and champion the independent channels for these brands.

“Shows are an integral part of our business for many reasons,” says Dave Nash, President & CEO, Sun Diego. “Being a specialty store means bringing innovative and creative ideas to our customers—AGENDA does a fantastic job of melting all these ideas together each year the show continues to improve with new brands and fresh ideas.” Bruce Cromartie, founder of BC Surf & Sport and co-chair of BRA adds “I’m excited to see BRA and Agenda joining together to promote the continued importance of specialty retail in our industry. Agenda-Long Beach is the premier show on the West Coast, and an important venue for all our members to attend.”

BRA has not endorsed a west coast show since the closure of the Action Sports Retailer (ASR) show in 2010. To celebrate the partnership, BRA and AGENDA will host a private event for BRA members, brand leaders, and independent retailers following the show to kick off night one of the Long Beach show on July 25.
