Longest-running boardsports and beach/resort lifestyle trade show runs September 6-8, 2013

Wrightsville Beach, NC, August 26, 2013—Board Retailers Association reminded all action sports retailers today—member and non-member—of its continuing recommendation to attend Surf Expo this coming September 6-8, 2013. The group ran down a list of important networking and educational events that will be helpful to retailers in addition to three days of shopping the 200K+ square foot trade show in Orlando, FL.

BRA Board member and former Co-Chairperson D Nachnani of Coastal Edge said, “I’ve been attending Surf Expo for over 20 years. The show has become a staple in both my buying cycle and my social calendar. The Surf Expo staff always put the retailer first. They manage to put on a bunch of events while maintaining a focus on business, and I can’t say enough how valuable that is.”

Highlighted events include:

Demo Day: Thursday, September 5, from noon to 5pm at Orlando Watersports Complex
Supporting the Stand Up Paddle and Wake markets, Board Demo Day allows the retailer to ‘try it before you buy it’. The event gives retailers valuable face to face time with key exhibitors and the opportunity to demo new boards, paddles and equipment before they buy. Admittance is free for registered Surf Expo retailers.

IR Focus: Friday and Saturday, September 6-7, at varying times throughout the show
IR Focus brings eCommerce Expertise to Surf Expo with this inaugural conference and exhibition, located right on the show floor. Whether retailers are just starting out, or need to expand their online expertise, IR Focus: Surf Expo offers four half-day workshops on Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7, that are perfect for your business. Free Seminar Series Presented by BRA: Two sessions daily at The Stage

This show’s topics include Improving your Cash Flow, Estate Planning, Electronic Payments and Showrooming, among others. Fashion Shows: Daily on The Stage
Surf Expo exhibitors display their newest and most innovated designs in apparel, swimwear, accessories and footwear at fashion shows held daily on The Stage, with the Resort show at 10:30am, Boardsports show at 1:30pm and the Swimwear Showroom Fashion Show presented by TransWorld Business, Saturday at 4pm.

The Peabody Fashion Show presented by TransWorld Business: Friday, September 6, 6:30pm
The Peabody Fashion Show presented by TransWorld Business, a special swim and boutique event, will be held at the Peabody Hotel on Friday, September 6th at 6:30pm. Complimentary cocktails and appetizers will be served before the hottest swim looks for 2014 hit the stage.

Industry Party and Stokes Me Surf Contest: Saturday, September 7, doors open at 7:30pm
Surf Expo and Sanuk are teaming up again to bring you the Industry Party at Typhoon Lagoon on Saturday, September 7th. Doors open at 7:30pm. Attendees can ride the waterslides and watch the pros in the Stokes Me surf contest.  Shuttles will run from the OCCC to Typhoon Lagoon starting at 6:45 outside the South Hall concourse.
