Oxbow, a 23-year-old French surf brand, opened a store in Santa Monica last June and plans to open five more including its second location in Waikiki in 2009. Oxbow hopes to establish themselves as a “sophisticated alternative to the typical surf fare” by serving core surf shops with wholesale merchandise. Oxbow will be exhibiting at ASR. Stop by and check out their line which caters to 25-35 year-olds as opposed to the usual 12 -18 year-olds. Wholesale prices hover about 10% above domestic surf brand offerings.
