Stokes Me Returns for a Second Year: Retailers Join the Cause In-Store

The SIMA Humanitarian Fund’s annual campaign, Stokes Me, returns for its second year in September, calling on retailers, brands and consumers to join forces for a month of fundraising. All funds raised will go directly to 11 surf-related humanitarian organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life, health and/or welfare of people.

Stokes Me will kick off with the second annual Stokes Me Surf Contest at the Surf Expo Industry Party presented by Sanuk on Saturday, September 7 at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Brands who have committed to donating to Stokes Me will throw down in the wave pool in a contest that’s anything but average. Brands and retailers will be on hand to see which antics stoke them, all in the name of charity.

Along with the Stokes Me Surf Contest, funds will be raised through retail and consumer participation with a new add-a-buck initiative. Participating retailers include BC Surf & Sport, Brave New World, Hansen’s, Hi-Tech, Huntington Surf & Sport, Jack’s Surfboards, Maui Nix, Noll Surfboards, Rip Curl Retail, Rusty Del Mar Surf Shop, South Coast Surf Shop, Spyder Surf, Sun Diego, Surfside Sports, Surf Ride, and Thalia Surf Shop. These retailers will ask their customers to add a dollar to their purchases throughout the month of September to support the SIMA Humanitarian Fund beneficiaries listed below:
