Issues Affecting Retailers Right Now: Retailer Town Hall Meetings

Share Challenges. Solve Problems Together. Unite as One Voice. We just announced two Retailer Town Hall Meetings at AGENDA Long Beach and Surf Expo for this January, where retailers, BRA members and non-members alike, are invited to enjoy a cocktail with fellow action sports indie retailers, sit in on an inspiring greeting from industry veteran and BRA friend Tom Holbrook, and then join in an open forum discussion to share challenges, issues and opportunities with the group. As we get ready for these meetings to take place this January, we are gathering feedback from indie retailers across the country. What challenges are you facing? Ecommerce competition? Vendor communication issues? Need recommendations for private label manufacturers? Looking to discover an affordable mobile, cloud-based POS system? We need to know. We have set up an anonymous survey where you can let us know what Board Retailers Association can help you with, and what issues we need to take to the manufacturers and service providers. Please take five minutes to share. It’ll help indie retailers across the action sports industry. Board Retailers Association Attends AGENDA Long Beach as Official West Coast Partner

BRA Endorsement among many highlights of record August show Wrightsville Beach, NC (August 1, 2013) – Board Retailers Association (BRA), the non-profit organization supporting independent retailers in the surf, skate, snow, wake, wind and SUP industries, attended AGENDA last week in Long Beach, CA. It was the first official west coast trade show presence of the Association since ASR closed its doors in 2010. AGENDA Long Beach is BRA’s exclusive west coast partner—a leading forum for action sports, surf, streetwear, lifestyle and footwear. AGENDA founder Aaron Levant was pleased to announce the show was the most successful in its decade-long history. “Looking back at AGENDA’s humble beginnings, and now our ten year run, I want to take the opportunity to thank all our brands and retailers for the continued support and sharing in our vision,” he said. “Long Beach was the largest show in the history of AGENDA, showing a staggering increase of over 40% in retail and distributor attendance. I can’t think of a better way to commemorate our ten year run.” A notable show highlight was the launch of AGENDA WMNS—a neighborhood where Women’s dedicated brands united in one location, which called attention to the powerful potential of the women’s market in action sports, in addition to offering a convenient shopping experience for attendees. “I was very happy with the women’s brand selection in the AGENDA WMNS section. Having them all in one area made browsing and buying very easy,” said BRA Co-Chair Coco Tihanyi, owner of Surf Diva Boutique. “I found some great new brands to sell at the boutique and was able to place my...
