I recently had a retailer contact the association about obtaining liability insurance. Not just property insurance or accident insurance in case something happens on site or at a store sponsored event but actual liability insurance to protect them in the event of a law suit. Specifically, the retailer wanted to be assured that his attorney fees would be covered in the event he was sued by a customer injured on a piece of equipment he sold. The worry was that a person may injure themselves while skateboarding or snowboarding and decide to sue the board manufacturer, distributor, retailer, etc. What steps, if any, are you taking to protect yourself? What do you as retailers do in regards to liability insurance?
